IDEAL is based in the inner city of Bristol UK whose work is centred around illegal drugs and substance misuse. Raising awareness about the harmful effects on both the individual and the community and promoting a longterm, sustainable community development approach in tackling this complex issue. For many years the response to illegal drugs has been criminal justice led, we believe it is time for a change and a rethink where the balance is towards a community development approach and to look at exit strategies for both those dependent on drugs and those who deal drugs.
