Zainuddin al-Mabari (ra) in his book Kifayat al-Adqiya wrote about Imam Ghazali's book Ihya Uloomuddin:
طَالعِْ أَخِي إحْياَء غَزَّالٍ تنَلَْ
فيِهِ الشِّفَا مِنْ كلُِّ دَاءٍأَعْضَلاَ
Friend, recite the book of Imam Ghazali (ra) called Ihya Uloomuddin. It has the cure for all the diseases that baffle physicians.
Sayyid Baqari Al Makki (ra) has a signature to this advice: 'Ihya will not be criticized except by those who err and those who err.' Be a companion of Ihya. That book is the seat of Allah's special vision and satisfaction. He who recites it with love will be loved by Allah, the angels, the angels and..... (Kifaya p, 98).
