After leaving a 13-year career in the computer industry to be home with my kids, we eventually decided to homeschool to support some special needs. As I learned to homeschool, I found too much information in some areas, too little in others, and a whole lot of opinions that only distracted me and wasted my time. There was no clear path for me to follow. So I used the skills I’d learned in my engineering career to create a homeschool that works for our unique, quirky family - a homeschool that includes modern methods and minimal fuss so that we can have a life outside of homeschooling.

Yesterday was Earth’s Rotation Day! Honestly, I didn't know there was such a thing. Probably not something a Flat Earther would celebrate 🤣. But I thought it was a good time to re-share this geography curriculum review and maybe help our kids avoid the whole Flat Earth thing 😜.

Thought I'd share this helpful video that reminds us to think about the emotional well-being of our family members. Definitely something that should be talked about more in the homeschool community. We can watch a million videos to pick out the "perfect" curriculum, but really the thing that has impacted our homeschool the most is negative behaviors that stem from a lack of emotional regulation (partially due to a couple of special needs in our homeschool). What has been the biggest issue in your homeschool, even if it's not exactly "school" related?
