Welcome to The Foleys Homestead 🌾
We’re a family of five — husband, wife, and our three young kids — homesteading on 5 acres in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia.
Here we’re learning how to truly live off the land:
🌱 Growing our own fruit and vegetables
🐑 Raising our own meat
🍞 Cooking and baking from scratch
🌿 Creating a simple, sustainable family life
On this channel you’ll find real homestead updates, garden progress, from-scratch cooking, preserving, seasonal planting, and everyday life on our land as we learn, grow, and build our homestead together.

The Foleys Homestead
There’s something deeply comforting about baking an apple pie from scratch on the homestead.
The kind where the windows are open, the oven hums quietly, and the whole house fills with the smell of sweet apples, cinnamon, and buttery pastry.
Hand-peeled apples, gently spiced, tucked into a flaky lattice crust and baked until golden and bubbling — slow food made the old-fashioned way. No rush, no shortcuts, just simple ingredients and a little love.
This is the kind of baking that brings everyone into the kitchen, waiting for that first warm slice, best served with cream, ice cream, or straight from the dish at the bench.
Homemade, wholesome, and made to be shared 🤍🍂🍎

🍅 Tomatoes don’t grow without a few struggles…
These beauties are fruiting, but not without a bit of drama 🌞
Between WA heat, leaf curl, and learning when to not over-love them with water, this season has been a lesson.
On very hot days they get watered morning and night,
otherwise it’s deep watering every morning only — letting the roots breathe and do their thing.
🌱 Little reminder for fellow gardeners:
Leaf curl doesn’t always mean something’s wrong — sometimes plants are just protecting themselves from the heat.
Growing food isn’t about perfection…
it’s about learning, adjusting, and trusting the process 💚
