C-4/C-5 quadriplegic on a journey to walk again. Bio below
My name is David and in 2014 I had a life changing accident. Prior to this time I was fairly active person. I loved going to the gym, playing soccer and attending the Florida gators football games with my friends. Then in Sept, 2014 I was attending a friends wedding in Alabama. Where everyone went swimming after the reception. Second after diving in to the pool I knew something was wrong. The next memory I have is waking up three weeks later in the hospital terrified because I was unable to move from the chest down and was on the ventilator unable to talk. This left me as a C-4-5 quadriplegic, Not accepting this outcome made me more determined than ever to walk again. So I started going to rehab just three months after my accident. Then in January 2018 I had a procedure in which they injected stem cells and placed a epidural stimulator on my spine. Hopefully with the stimulator and continue rehabilitation I will walk again
