Colby Lafayette began as a fictional alter-ego, an LA-residing rockstar always chewing on a match, embodying the dreams of a kid from a small town north of Boston. Colby’s journey is now culminating into SO BAD, a 6-track collection of gritty, bass-driven bangers sonically characterized by undeniable hooks, alt-rock influenced production, and nearly tangible energy. Created entirely in quarantine, the songs are thematically tied together by reflection—Colby channels his naive, reckless high-school days, stringing vivid lyrics and nostalgic moments into a cohesive, deeply personal body of work.
