Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger."

"Whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah..."

"…and for anyone who fears Allah, He will find a way out for him, and will provide for him from sources he never could imagine." (Quran, At-Talaq, 2-3)

Huzejfe ibn Jeman narrated that the Prophet Muhammad said: "Looking at a woman is like poison from the arrows of Satan. Whoever leaves it for fear of Allah, Allah will reward him with faith, the sweetness of which he will feel in his heart." (Recorded by Ahmad in Musnad, and the narration is authentic)

Malik ibn Dinar said: "The gardens of delight are between the gardens of paradise and the gardens of Eden. In them, some will have servants created from the roses of paradise. They will be populated by those who intended to commit sin but then remembered Allah – the Mighty and Exalted – so they refrained from sinning and bowed their necks in fear of Allah."

Hasan al-Basri narrated: "There once was a prostitute who exceeded the people of her time in beauty. She wouldn't allow any man to be with her unless he paid her 100 dinars. One day, a man saw her and was attracted to her. He went and worked until he earned 100 dinars, then went to her. She said, 'Give it to the man at the door so he can count and weigh it.' After he did so, she told him to enter. She had a luxurious home with a bed made of gold. She said, 'Come to me.' But when it came to having relations with her, he suddenly remembered standing before Allah on the Day of Judgment, and it struck him like thunder, extinguishing his desire.

He said to her, 'Allow me to leave, and you can keep the money.'

She replied, 'How can you do that now after you saw me, were attracted to me, worked hard until you collected 100 dinars, and now that you are finally with me, you do this?'

He said, 'I swear by Allah, I did it for nothing other than the fear of Allah and the thought of standing between His hands.'

She said, 'If you are sincere in what you say, then I don't want to marry anyone but you!'

He said, 'Allow me to leave.'

She said, 'No, until you promise Allah that if I come to where you live, you will marry me!'

He said, 'So be it. We'll see.'

He then put on his clothes and returned to his homeland. She later traveled to his land with all her possessions, regretting the circumstances in which they had met, until she came and asked for him. When she came to his house, she was told, 'The queen herself has come and is asking for you!' When he saw her, he was so shocked that he fell and died.

His body fell into her hands, and she said, 'As for him, I missed the opportunity to be with him. Does he have any close relatives?' She was told, 'Yes, he has a brother, but he is a poor man.' She then said, 'I will marry you out of my love for your deceased brother.'

She married him and bore him seven righteous sons."

etubu ilejh

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Supplicate to Allah with certainty that He will answer you, and know that Allah does not accept the supplication from a heedless heart." (Tirmidhi and Hakim, graded hasan)
