I am a Registered Nurse, holistic health advocate, and author of four health and wellness books. My passion is helping people reclaim their health and experience total wellness through a holistic, whole-person approach.

Years ago, I was critically ill, struggling with multiple health challenges. That turning point led me on a powerful healing journey. By embracing a plant-based lifestyle, moderate exercise, adequate rest and sleep, time in nature, fresh air, sunlight, prayer, and meditation, I transformed my health—mind, body, and spirit.

Today, I’m living proof that healing is possible. Through this channel, I share practical guidance, encouragement, and real-life strategies to help you take ownership of your health and create lasting wellness.

If you’re ready to begin—or continue—your own healing journey, I invite you to walk this path with me.

Cortisol: The Stress Hormone

When you’re stressed, your body releases cortisol from the adrenal glands.

Cortisol:
• Raises blood sugar (to prepare you for “fight or flight”)
• Signals your body to store energy
• Increases appetite — especially for sugar and refined carbs
• Encourages fat storage around the abdomen

Chronic stress = chronically elevated cortisol
Chronic elevated cortisol = more belly fat storage

This is why many people gain weight specifically in the midsection during stressful seasons.

The importance of including plants in our diet is unquestionably important. 🌿

However, when it comes to sustainable weight loss, we must be intentional about which plants we choose.

For 2026, part of my strategy has been focusing on lower-carbohydrate plant foods — especially non-starchy vegetables, leafy greens, beans in moderation, nuts, and seeds — while reducing higher-sugar and high-starch options.

This simple shift has made a powerful difference.

Not only has it helped me lose weight in a steady, sustainable way, but lowering my overall carbohydrate and sugar intake has helped me:

• Balance my blood sugar
• Reduce cravings
• Improve my energy levels
• Experience significant improvements in generalized pain and inflammation

What we eat matters.
The type of plant foods we choose matters.
And balance matters.

Plants are powerful — but being strategic with them can be transformational.

Here’s to making wise, sustainable choices in 2026. 🌱✨
