वैसे तो इतिहास कभी किसी एक की देंन नहीं होती, अलग अलग किरदार उभरते है और उन्ही के साथ इतिहास भी मानो अपने आप रचते चले आते है। इस मेहरौली ने देखा है, न जाने कितने ही दौरों को आते-जाते, कभी बर्बाद हुए सल्तनतों को देखा , तो कभी दरिया दिली रूहानी अंदाज़ को देखा, तो कभी रूह कपा देने वाली बर्बता को भी, इसी महरौली ने देखा ।

हर वक़्त की गवाही देने वाली महरौली आज किसी के याद में नहीं है , साजेदारी निभाई है दिल्ली मगर दिल्ली के पीछे छिपे बैठी है, अपने अस्तित्व को समेटे हुए, शायद और परिवर्तन नहीं चाहती ये महरौली ।
