Phillypurge.com originally was founded with the purpose of being a "frustrated sports fan site" back in 2004. Our official launch was in the spring of 2006.
Since then we've grown to become more than just a site about frustration.
We've waited a long time for a championship and the 2008 Philadelphia Phillies delivered for us what we were waiting so long for; a championship! Congratulations to the Phillies on ending our 25 year championship drought.
Through all of the debacles and collapses between May 31, 1983 and October 29, 2008 it made us a stronger fanbase. And, now we're no longer the city that always loses, for this will be the beginning of a renaisance for our sports teams!
Philadelphia sports are more than just entertainment. They are a religion for many of us, a lifestyle.
