Evolvotron video loops are rendered from a "function" which is composed from any of dozens of interesting patterns, which makes it a unique type of compositional art. Most of these pattern combinators express fractal structures, which makes most of the art posted here fractal in nature. They are also abstract, as none of the component patterns are realistic in nature.
All videos are discoveries rather than creations. The space of Evolvotron "functions" and the images or videos that they specify is a high-dimensional infinite universe of abstract art, and the Evolvotron browser supports the artist's exploration of this infinite variety. When I spot an interesting view during those excursions, I take a snapshot and post its still image on Deviantart and its video version here on Youtube.
As these art works are discoveries rather than creations, just as mathematics is more discovery than creation, they are posted here under a Creative Commons license, for all to share and enjoy.
