In his book Return to Life Through Contrology Joseph Pilates defined his method, how anyone could benefit and set out 34 Contrology (Pilates)exercises which could be practised at home or anywhere. The intention was that you would gradually build your practise, adding an exercise as you progressed and wanted to spend more time practising.
