Mysterious Jojo

I was coming back from seeing Aunty Donna and my hungry ass went into Burger King and they were selling a Naruto Burger with a Naruto Shirt, so I got the Naruto Shirt. Tonight I will be reviewing the Naruto Shirt in a short. Keep an eye out for this momentous occasion. The Naruto Burger was fine if you're wondering. You were. I saw it

With Sacred And Terrible Air The Audiobook now basically wrapped up (still the soundtrack video to go up on Thursday), I'd like to thank a couple of people in an obscenely long community post, without whom this whole thing wouldn't have been possible.

First off, thank you to Robert Kurvitz and Martin Luiga for writing/editing the original novel, as well as for creating Disco Elysium and getting me into this great fandom.

Thank you also to Group Ibex for lovingly translating this story into English and making it semi-coherant to read. Actually, two days ago they did an interview for the Human Can Opener podcast so check that out if you want.

Thank you to all of the cast that took part in this (image 1), for making this easily the most complex audiobook I've done so far, even if it's not the longest, you all did really well and gave it your all. Social media for all of them if you want to support them (image 2).

I'd like to thank 3 VAs in particular, first is SirSon, who had by far the most lines of anyone in the story even with just one character, thank you for bringing Inayat Khan to life in such a great way.

I'd like to give a big shout out to Allie Bones (image 3), who graciously stepped in to voice Målin and Khan's mother after the only other two women in either of my servers couldn't do it, always appreciate the generosity of internet strangers (getting paid also probably helped lmao).

And of course a MASSIVE shout out to our Special Guest, Lenval Brown (image 4), who I still can't believe actually agreed to be a part of this, and who of course did an absolutely incredible job, as he always does, and was also very nice to talk to over Zoom about it, such a gentleman.

And finally, I'd like to thank YOU, the viewer/listener, for enjoying the audiobook, and all future listeners as well, whose support means the world to me! I love reading things on the internet! It is so much fun!

All 4 episodes of Sacred And Terrible Air: The Audiobook are out now, with a bonus soundtrack video coming on Thursday. Link to the playlist is below, and thank you for reading!

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING POST WILL SPOIL THE IDENTITY OF THE SPECIAL GUEST FOR THE SACRED AND TERRIBLE AIR AUDIOBOOK. IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED EPISODE 4 YET, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

The Cytoplasm

Deep within the Pale, a lone wanderer makes camp. This traveller, once a hardcore teenage revolutionary, has been broken by the world, and now trudges towards an uncertain destination, in search of someone he once held dear. Beside him floats a monochrome spirit, an irregularity in the film, the ghostly grey cytoplasm of one of the founding fathers of communism. Together, they frequently find themselves in bitter and pointless arguments about the cytoplasm’s life, the travellers convictions, and whether any of it truly matters as the end of the world encroaches ever closer. What else can really be done in the midst of this destructive fog that blankets the world, this sacred and terrible air?

The Traveller: GelatinPangolin
The Cytoplasm: Lenval Brown

The Composer

Emile de Perouse-Mittrecie was not what many people would call an incredible composer. In fact, to many, his bizarre “dodecaphonic” symphonies could charitably be described as “the worst sound anyone had ever made in the history of Revachol” (Just over 50 years later, Ruud Hoenklowen would definitively take this crown after being shot in the face). But to Emile, they were masterpieces, ahead of their time, unrecognized by the lowly masses. Perhaps this is why, after an extremely rare bout of thunderous praise from a certain math teacher, Emile saw fit to sign and give away one of his prized dodecahedrons to the guest. Some 8 months later, nobody saw the comte again.

The Pale

The Pale separates all land on this world. A featureless, odorless mass of devastation, those who enter without proper protection will be exposed to massive doses of radiation, and can find themselves slipping away into the past, losing their own self, and even being erased from the memories of the world. Oftentimes, radio signals sent through the Pale can be slipped through to the past, or even the future garbled and confused. The study of the Pale is referred to as Entroponetics, with those who trawl through it known as Entroponauts. Perhaps the most startling revelation to come from this research is that the Pale is slowly expanding, and shall one day consume all matter in its path. The entire world is a zone of imminent entroponetic catastrophe.

SATA The Audiobook episode 4 premieres on Thursday. Episode 3 is out now.
