I make and share videos that I think resist the oppressive social constructs in popular US culture. Every culture has its own power dynamics that are worthy of criticism. I focus on the US because that is my home, and where I feel most knowledgeable and responsible to offer critique for the culture that created me. There are many things I love about the US and our history, particularly the various freedom movements. But we've done a lot of terrible things to people domestically and abroad for the benefit of a few powerful groups. I believe both through the production process and delivered content, a lot of media contributes to this exploitation. Independent producers and consumers are not exempt from this problem. I think it's necessary to call it out and work to stop the exploitation of people and the Earth, which in the end is only hurting ourselves, no matter how rich and powerful someone is.
