I have been in education for over 20 years working with grades TK-2. I am now a literacy consultant focusing on balanced literacy, providing demonstration lessons in various TK, K, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. These videos are designed as a "guide" to help support teachers I've been working with throughout the year.
Every component of balanced literacy is still a work in progress, and as I continue my education by attending various professional development trainings, you will see a shift in my learning and thinking as I practice different strategies with the students.
Our work as educators should always be evolving based on current research along with analyzing our data to meet the needs of all students.
