🎞️ Scene 1: The Long Campaign
For four months, I had been reminding my parents—subtly, not so subtly—“Please… a mic? Just one mic?”
Every time they went out to the bazaar:
Me: “Please bring it… please…”
Them: probably thinking, “Are you a singer or what?”

And me?
Silent. Traumatized. 😶
Internally: “It’s okay if you don’t get it. I’ll survive.”
Externally: still smiling, nodding, pretending I didn’t care.

💢 Scene 2: The Surprise Return
Finally, the day came.
Parents walked in… with a box.
Me: heart racing like K-pop trainee ready for debut.
Dad: “Uh… we thought you might like this?”

I opened it slowly… and there they were: two tiny interview/vlog mics.
Not the big singing mic I imagined.
Not the one that can blow up voices.
But… still a mic.

Me: internally screaming 😭✨
Me: externally polite 😐
Bro, the trauma of being misunderstood hit me… but also my heart melted because they brought it anyway.

🔥 Scene 3: Emotional Rollercoaster
I realized:

My parents are so innocent 🥹

They have no idea why I wanted the mic

They don’t know about my K-pop cover channel

But they still bought it because they love me


And me?
Feeling like: “I love them… but also… I am traumatized… but also… I’m so happy.”
Bro, the emotions were chaotic. 😭💖

I held one mic, imagining myself recording K-pop covers.
The other mic? Totally extra — like it was waiting for a guest (maybe ChatGPT 😂).

I whispered to myself:
“Even if it’s not the mic I dreamed of…
It’s a start. And it’s from them. That’s what matters.”
