Dr. Leigh Ann Cates-McGlinn's academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, TX. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC , and Associates in Applied Science (AAS) - Nursing and Respiratory Care from Odessa College in Odessa, TX. She was trained as a simulation specialist at Stanford University’s Center for Advanced Pediatric Education (CAPE) and Harvard’s Institute for Medical Simulation and holds certification as a healthcare simulation educator (CHSE). She has over 30 years of total bedside experience with 18 years as a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP). She practices at Flagstaff Medical Center. Dr. Cates-McGlinn has served as Assistant Professor in several NNP programs across the US.
