Japanese pop mastermind Mariya Takeuchi is a singer-songwriter best known for her worldwide hit "Plastic Love."
Mariya Takeuchi made her debut in 1978 with the single "Come Back, My Time” followed by hits such as "September" and "Fushigi na Peach Pie". After getting married, she started her journey as a songwriter, providing popular hits such as "Genki wo Dashite" and "Eki" to other artists while resuming her activities as a singer-songwriter in 1984. In 2019, she received the 69th Art Encouragement Prize from the Minister of MEXT (Popular Performing Arts Category), and her 40th anniversary album "Turntable" ranked No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart. At the end of the year, she won a special award at the 61st Japan Record Awards, and surprised her fans by making her first appearance in the "70th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen". In 2020, the first video work of her career, "souvenir the movie ~MARIYA TAKEUCHI Theater Live~(Special Edition)" was released, ranking No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart.
