More info on the Army Fitness Test (AFT) coming June 2025:
Starting June 1, 2025, the Army is implementing the new Army Fitness Test (AFT). It will be include five-events (ACFT minus the Standing Power Throw).
Looks like the AFT will become the test of record 1 June 2025, but the scoring for combat MOSs will not take effect until 1 January 2026… hmmm.
COMBAT MOS
Min score: 350 total / 60 per event. So if you’re in a combat MOS you must score at least 60 in each event AND achieve at least a 350.
ALL OTHERS
300 total, doesn’t state if it will require a minimum of 60 in each event, but I think it’s a fair assumption that will be the case.
But, you should NEVER be so concerned with the minimum scores, and instead should ALWAYS be concerned with the MAX. If you aim high, you automatically set higher standards for yourself. Don’t aim low.

Here we go again… (but this time… it looks serious) 🧐
**Make sure to SHARE this far and wide to keep as many informed as possible. Information is power people!!! 🤜 🤛
Looks like the new RPFT is sitting at a 80% solution, good enough for army work.
Class 006-25, 21 April 2025, is slated for the first run. It will still be considered in “testing phase,” as ARTB will still make tweaks as necessary to get this new test right.
But, as it stands now, the test looks good, and totally doable with the proper preparation.
My advice, if you’re in this class or beyond, run through this new test a few times, to standard, to ensure you’re good to go.
We will make minor adjustments to the 13-Week Ranger School Fitness Program. But, I can tell you now, not much will need to change. If you’ve been using that plan to prepare, I’m confident you’ll be able to crush this test.
But again, run through it so you’ve gone through the motions before and to build your own confidence. Don’t be lazy!

Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while is build a challenge-oriented group of high-speeds (like you guys) who enjoy a good challenge. This would provide a common focus for the group and also give everyone something to work towards that we can do together! 🤜 🤛
I’m thinking (to start) we start with a ruck march challenge. Here’s the preliminary details (WARNO):
• STANDARD: A set distance with a set weight, completed on a specific day. (We can establish a few different difficulty options).
• PARTICIPATION: Sign-up through RunSignUp. One-Time fees will cover things like unique swag and finishers awards.
• GROUP: We can do a FB live-kickoff and start the event together! (We can stagger for differences in time-zones) During the event, posting and check-in on the group page. 👊
• AWARDS: Participation/finisher awards like unique coins/patches. Big Prizes for top finishers! (Special gear is what I’m thinking 😉)
• RESULTS: Virtual results collected and posted (optional) on GS platforms to show off your hard work and dedication! (And also use as a benchmark for future events)
So, what do you guys think? Should we do this thing?? 💪
