BFD drives is a completely privately operated channel for car enthusiasts and petrol heads like the BFD himself. Here you will find videos about driving cars but also some cool slideshows and video clips of some car events especially from meetings of classic and vintage cars. Sharing the wonderful images of great automobiles, even neo-classics and modern legends even in smaller scales as diecast model car. This project is purely private / non-commercial - this is my hobby, not my job. For a while YouTube is placing ads also on videos from non-partners. I don't earn any penny from YouTube and I also haven't planned to do so - I couldn't live from that pocket money. Hobby is hobby.

Hello my friends! I hope you all had so far an amazing pentecost! I was today on a classic car show in Kirchheim/Teck and met one of the scrapyard brothers that became popular on German TV a couple of years ago. Here you can see me with the legendary @PeterLudolf-derechte - Peter is such an amazing nice person. I am very glad that I met him today although it was only for a short time.
He is a legend about cooking noodles - that's why his sweater is saying "Man kann Nudeln machen warm, man kann Nudeln machen kalt" (You can eat noodles warm, you can eat noodles cold). Here one part of an episode: https://youtu.be/eBoYLraCSs4 ... Peter also has really a big heart! He did greet everyone he saw on the classic car show - totally amazing!

Well, I’ve just spent a few hours changing thumbnails for some Shorts. For reasons completely inexplicable to me, YouTube has restricted this capability exclusively to the YouTube app on modern smartphones. My old smartphone couldn't handle the app update—and even using Android emulators like BlueStacks and NoxPlayer, I still couldn't change any thumbnails. And on a PC, there is simply no option available in the browser—even though, technically speaking, this shouldn't be a problem at all. A huge thank you to YouTube; I now have pain in my left arm from holding up my phone, and a stiff neck from constantly craning down to look at the screen... A truly fantastic solution, YouTube—NOT!
What do you guys think about this feature? Do you not create Shorts? Does it not bother you? Or do you simply use smartphones for all your videos anyway?

Hello my friends!
Today I will release two videos! The first is already released (and I didn't want to change the schedule of the other 16 videos so Part 1 of the Classic Car Meet in Bad Liebenzell will also be released in around 1 hour.
Anyway, in my last video I was showing you a bag of stuff that I bought in the Mercedes-Benz Museum. It's about time to also show you these model cars and so we will get two videos today. One about these model cars and one about the classic car show.
As I asked the AI what to do to get more views on my videos ... so the advice was to have a shorter intro and better thumbnail - I don't think that it will make any change unless YouTube is also showing the video in the Search and Recommendations. Anyway, what do you think about the thumbnail? It looks of course more professional than on my other uploads. But you don't see what I am showing ... so I am curious if it makes you curious.
In my old intro I was showing you 3 cars at the start and 2 zoomed in before the actual video started - as a little teaser. Just let me ask you, do you like these intros or is it something I really could give up?
How about the thumbnail - showing 3 cool cars ... or perhabs just one of my personal choice?
How about the video length? In last year I tried to be under 10 minutes but posting Monday to Friday every day. But I am aware time is precious. So I changed to 15 minues every second day so that it is not too much to watch when you had no time for a day.
Looking forward to hear your opinions about it.
See you in my next video!
Cheers & Beers, Sven

Tinted light bulb? .... No, not really!
But this was the reason why the right indicator of my Audi had recently weird issues.
It was occasionally indicating much faster (but working!).
First I was in the believe it is either the switch of the indicator, or the relais (oddly hazard lights were running normal).
Well, two friends mentioned it could be a bad ground ... I did clean some contacts which was for sure also not a bad thing to do. But it didn't solve the problem.
Well, so plan for today was to replace the relais. So I just had to remove the switches on the instrument cluster to remove the cover of it - the relais on my Audi 80 B2 VFL is jammed behind the cluster near the clock. After I have replaced it then the little gizmo finally died. First I was wondering why the front indicator wasn't working anymore. Tried again the old relais and same effect. So it was clear that it must be the bulb ... finally I knew what was wrong. Assuming the bulb had a loose connection of the filament - so I couldn't find this bugger at first when I was checking the contacts.
Anyway, bulb replaced and problem solved. It is indicating again like it should ... no bad ground, no broken relais, no broken switch ... just a stupid little gizmo who only showed its true face when it finally broke, lol.
Next plan is to just replace all bulbs to make sure the bulbs are fresh and new. I never replaced this bulb ... so it was more than 10 years old.
I don't want to know how much a repair shop could have charged me because of spending two hours checking the electric system without an error and perhabs replacing stuff that is still alright ... and at the end it is just a stupid light bulb.
Anyway, I am happy I solved it by myself (as a sales clerk I am not really someone who is knowing how to fix a car, lol ... and it also happened once before that I broke something while fixing, haha). So the renewal of the MOT in two weeks has one problem less, now. The rest is only a bit oily around the oil pan ... but this will be the job for the repair shop when doing the MOT for me.
So happy weekend everyone!

Anyone of you remembering "The Persuaders!"? I am very lucky that Amazon Prime Video is just offering the show in their flatrate here in Germany where this show was named "Die 2" (The 2). There was actually also a difference about the dubbing because in Germany they did translate it more into gutter talk and more improvised which was back then the big fun - as same as about the Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movies. Without the gutter language it probably wouldn't have got the great success as back then. Not sure if that would work, now. But at least I like this type of dubbing over here .... aaaaaanyway, back to "The Persuaders!" ... it is also great for car enthusiasts. Just watching the start of the first episode when Tony Curtis appears there with the red Dino 246 GT (back when Ferrari didn't want to brand it under the Ferrari brand as he wanted to create another brand in the name Dino of his deceased son). And then there's Roger Moore who back then was known from the tv-series "Simon Templar" - he was driving the fantastic 1970 Aston Martin DBS and you can see that he really loved the car to give full throttle, hehe. The license plate in the series was BS 1 which was lend but the actual license plate of this car was PPP 6H as once accidently shown in a scene on a public motorway). Also stunning is the theme song from John Barry. By the way, after this series Roger Moore became the next James Bond actor and I found him fantastic! Just watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee4gh... to see why I am loving Roger Moore as 007!
If you like to hear the theme song in a better quality, watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vafSP...
The actual song from the car chase through the Corniches of the Côte d’Azur in France: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcZaS...
Memories or new information, drop it in the comments. Have a great morning, day, noon, afternoon, evening, or night - like whenever you are reading this. Have a great time! You're awesome!

This is a greeting to my subscribers @Fourwheeljive and @charlesdiecastgarage - both of them did own an Opel Kadett B Rallye and on this show I've seen a silver Opel Kadett Rallye at 11:50 - https://youtu.be/KaB0Mo1KGF4?si=Nb721... - the front end was of course looking different on the US export model from Opel (more likely what we had on our Opel Olympia A). Of course I am also always happy for everyone else watching the video and of course not only the Kadetts. Although in this episode were some more Kadetts but actually the Kadett C (third generation).
PS: At https://youtu.be/Kbg-2085c14 you can watch my video about an 1/18 scaled Opel Olympia A which had a front very similar (not exactly the same) as the US version of the Opel Kadett B.

G'day mates! I am not often sharing a video on the community thingy on YouTube. Here's a short video that I posted on April 2nd. It only has 34 views which is surprisingly low. YouTube seems to kind of shadow ban certain videos from my channel. But I am noticing the last long form videos got a boost since I am uploading more shorts. Anyway, If you haven't yet watched the short of the VW Gol miniature then I'd be very happy if you are giving the video a boost with a view and a thumb up. Comments are always welcome and if you like to share this cool iconic VW Gol from Brazil then I will be very happy. So I am looking forward that this video might get at least a hundred views. Thanks a lot my friends!

Fantastic what you can do with AI. I always just see myself doing certain stuff what is awesome - like my person from a parallel universe, lol.

#savegasridehogs
I am a petrolhead as you guys are knowing. But due to the high prices for gasoline I've to think about some alternatives. In the next days you are going to see me riding hogs (of course no real pigs will get harmed - it's all AI) ... just for the lulz 😂
The picture for this post was also created by AI: sl.bing.net/0HsvsdddCu
Perhabs we could just start a little trend in the YouTube shorts with this idea. Feel free to use the same hashtag.
So you may use an AI website of your choice (when using free AI websites then currently I feel like Bing/Copilot Image Creator is doing a good job when uploading your foto and using GPT-4o with an aspect ratio 1:1). Use a prompt e.g.:
Dress the man in biker clothes and have him ride a large pig with handlebars and a saddle instead of a motorcycle. The photo should be taken in a flowering meadow.
And then animate the foto as a video. For example at META AI you can create currently as many videos of pictures as you like and you can even put some music on it.
When using it in combination with the Bing/Copilot pictures and META AI video then you may use a video editing software to save the video at least in 1080p (1K).
