I picked a beautiful mixed bouquet of roses today. The hot pinks hold up really good in our hot weather. The light pinks have all faded to white.

One down, 204 more to go. After being out of the country for two weeks, I am coming back to quite the overgrown garden. Though I don't mind the overgrown look… But there is a lot of deadheading, removing black spot and the mid summer fertilizing...

I love my little feeder by my porch swing! I can keep the larger birds from chasing the smaller birds away (and they are almost too big to feed, though I've seen them bend their bodies to reach the food!). My little goldfinches

I stopped putting food in my video birdfeeder for a few days because the grackles have discovered it, and are so aggressive and loud and were chasing the other birds away. So I put this tube feeder almost next to my porch swing and the small birds love it. I bring it in when I’m not around

My black spot spray program is working! While I still may have to pull off a handful of leaves here and there overall my shrubs are looking really healthy considering all the rain we’ve had and the hot humid days in middle Tennessee! I have a video on what I am doing now:

The problem with a young garden is when you get to the second flush, it tends to be just a single cluster and I have the debate of leaving it on the shrub or cutting and bringing inside…Cutting won! Now to find the right vases!
