ELI CSI CUNY
The English Language Institute (ELI) at the College of Staten Island offers intensive English programs combining academic training with real-world communication. Students take Reading & Writing, Grammar, Oral Communication, and TOEFL prep, and complete an official TOEFL test each term. Small classes (8–16 students) are taught by certified, native-speaking professors, with a diverse student body where English is the only shared language. Beyond the classroom, ELI provides cultural learning through monthly celebrations, on-campus events, and instructor-led excursions to NYC landmarks like MoMA and Wall St. Programs run 8- or 16-week terms in fall/spring and 6-week summer terms, with 18–22 hours of class per week. Graduates earn a CSI–CUNY certificate and are prepared for U.S. degree programs.
