Fit After 50

Today is January 3rd. I hope you are still going strong with you resolutions. If it is a health and fitness one keep it up but don't go crazy. If you trained today, take tomorrow off. Enjoy the weekend, maybe go for a walk and pick it up on Monday again. Be patient, let it come slowly to you. You change will be easier to accept both mentally and physically.

Patience. Perseverance. Humility.

Fit After 50

I just watched one of my videos and realized that YouTube posts ads on any video of mine with more than 100 views.
I knew there were ads at the beginning of the video but not during one. I am not monitized and I do not have control of when and where YT posts ads.

This is a shitty practice by them. If it was up to me adds would show up only during workout breaks.

Accept my apologies and I hope this does not stop you from working out with me.

Take care,

Coach Paul

Two thousand subscribers! Thank you so much. When I started this YouTube adventure almost 5 years ago now, my entire goal was to help a few people to become a little healthier and a little more fit. To think about two thousand of you here is is truly amazing and a privilege.

Again thank you for you continued support. I will be seeing you and a thousand new members of the β€ͺ@FitAfter50‬ club hopefully soon!

While I don't coach triathletes anymore, I love that my little YT channel is making a difference in someone's life. Eric has been with me since the beginning, going on 5 years soon. He has not missed a Monday or Thursday workout!

He might be a little nuts 😜 but that's what I love about him. Freaking Texas tough!🀠

Did a little bit of hill training this morning. Jogged about a mile to a park then sprinted 10 times up a short hill (20 seconds) with walking down recoveries.

Local soccer team showed to do a little hill training. Ran twice with them and finished deal last. All in all not too bad as I was only a step back to kids 1/3 my age.

Keep pushing yourself albeit with a little smart caution.

Have a great weekend from β€ͺ@FitAfter50‬

Come on, who else likes training in the heat? I for one love it and encourage it. This is true especially for long course triathletes. Think about what time you will be starting your run. Even if you are a world class long course athlete the chances are you run will begin at1pm. Well, some of your running should be done at 1pm. Get to know the feeling of running in the heat. Learn to adjust your pace. Learn to hydrate properly. Play with cooling tricks and most of all learn to curb you expectations. I did this for years to the point that now I enjoy it.

While I don't race anymore and only jog for fun, I still enjoy the hot weather.

See you outside at 3pm πŸ˜‰

Do you like training in the heat?

Starting you fitness journey? There is, only one thing you should pay attention to. It's not how many sets or reps. It is not the exercise selection. It is not whether you do cardio or lift or both. It does not matter if your cardio is walking or jogging.

The only this that matter is repeatability. So, consistency.

How to get started? Find 15-20 minutes a couple to a few times a week. These times are ones you can always be free at. Can be Monday morning after you take the kids to school. Or Wednesday at lunch. It does not matter. Those will be you no excuse training times and blocks. Ones you will never skip. Any workouts on top of these will be the icing on the proverbial cake. If you miss those additional workouts it won't matter.

Start small, start slow but start. Two, 20 minute walks a week is better than not walking at all. 3 is even better. Don't push too hard so to avoid burning out.

Just do a little bit so habits develop

Good luck!
