In August 1854, the first Good Shepherd Sisters arrived in Bangalore from France, committed to the service of children in need. They began by gathering 20 children from the streets, educating them within their residence. By 1910, classes were held in a two-storied orphanage named St. Euphrasia’s.

In 1914, a new school building was completed, and that same year, the institution received recognition as an elementary school from the Madras Educational Authorities. Following India’s Independence and Bangalore’s retrocession to Mysore State, the school adopted the Mysore syllabus in June 1948. The first public examination under this system was conducted in March 1951.

Today, St. Euphrasia’s Girls’ High School stands as a vibrant institution with its own campus, laboratories, sports fields, and qualified faculty. Currently, it caters to 491 high school students and 104 in its 9+2 pre-university stream.
