I like to play guitar -- especially metal.
I also like to play pool, and I have spent a lot of time playing both.
This is why I make videos:
1) because I can, and they're fun to make,
2) so I don't have to do a live demonstration in order for friends and family to see/hear me play,
3) to be entertaining, informative and/or inspiring to anyone who may find them so,
4) to practice performing well under pressure (by treating the camera as a critical audience),
5) to critique myself, and
6) because they might be fun to watch in the future.
