Marsiling Chinese Orchestra ( MCO ) was set up on 6 June 2004. The Orchestra was inaugurated in August 2004 at the initiation of Mr Hawazi Daipi. It is a collaboration program between Marsiling Citizens Consultative Committee ( CCC ) and Marsiling Secondary School. Its aim is to promote Chinese Orchestra education and appreciation among Marsiling residents. The objectives were, to enable school graduates who were ex-Chinese Orchestra members to continue pursuing their interest; to start early in life to play an active role in the community; and to foster a closer collaboration between the grassroots organizations, neighbourhood schools and residents.
