Hello, my name is Curtis Carey and have worked in Film, Television, Photography and News production since 2005.
I am a professional learner and storyteller. Someone who never stops exploring, never stops creating, and never stops growing. Everything I make comes from the curiosity that drives me every day.
For me, storytelling can be fiction or non-fiction. It lives in news, documentaries, information videos, music, film, television, video production, and writing. These are just some of the ways I’ve found storytelling to be meaningful throughout my life.
As long as I have breath and a mind, I’ll keep learning, creating, and sharing stories.
Having held many roles in independent film and television, news production, photography, graphic design, and videography.
I have received an advanced filmmaking certificate from New York Film academy, a BA in Film Studies at UNCW, and two masters in business administration (MBA), and film and television producing (MFA) from Chapman University.

As a fun fact, when Elvis was working on his '68 Comeback Special (under a contract to NBC for a movie "Charro" and a "Christmas Special"), which aired on December 3, 1968, this song saved him.
He didn't want to do a whole Christmas special with skits of Santa Clause like NBC thought he was going to make. So, when they saw what he was making, they were furious because they had promoted a Christmas special. But they were able to point to this song and say it was.
This then allowed him to push the bounds of what people saw and heard. Showing them the hits he was known for but then also incorporating artistic and experimental pieces beyond what the audience typically saw. Finally, he ended it with a song inspired by the loss of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr and the struggle the country was going through with civil rights.
I am lining up and planning several videos on film, television, and production history and processes set to start in the new year. So, if you like learning about movies, how they are made, and some context behind them, stay tuned.
