In 1915, my great grandparents established a 200-acre farm in north Georgia. They survived off the land by planting all types of vegetables as well as cotton and wheat. Chickens, pigs, and cows were raised for sustainability as well as a few squirrels and rabbits here and there.
The remaining 5 acres of the original tract of land has been passed all the way down to myself and my family. We are trying to glean a little of what my ancestors learned to survive off the land not too long ago. Currently, we are raising honey bees, goats, and chickens.
I like to smoke my pipe shoot my guns and ride my tractor!!
