Callosm - Science meets Art is an interdisciplinary podcast that encourages the union of two of my favourite arenas: neuroscience and music. Hello, I am Dr. Sunit MD - the host. I am a certified doctor, anatomy educator, neuroscience graduate, and singer-songwriter. Currently I work as an associate professor in human anatomy at Symbiosis International University where I am also pursuing a PhD in cognitive neuroscience.
Named after corpus callosum, the bundle of nerve fibers connecting the left and right halves of the brain, Callosm aims to merge art and science, emphasizing interdisciplinary thinking. Episodes usually focus on physical and mental well-being using recent peer-reviewed, ending with a musical performance by independent musicians. The guests are usually experts/learners from art and academia. The science discussed deals with everyday questions regarding health, and the art performed is a platform for indie artists to express themselves and reach out to a wider audience.
