FAMU-Tube 1887 is the university's official YouTube channel, featuring select videos, news bulletins and other information about Florida A&M University.

Founded on October 3, 1887, as the State Normal College for Colored Students, what is now Florida A&M was started with 15 students and two instructors. Its destiny was to become one of the nation's premier institutions of higher learning.

Today, Florida A&M University is one of nine institutions in the State University System.
It was the Time/Princeton "College of Year" in 1997 and was recently chosen as Black Enterprise's No.1 university for minority students.

"Excellence with Caring" remains this university's goal.
