ANGRAU, LAM, GUNTUR, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA

ANGRAU was established under the name of Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) on the 12th of June 1964 through the APAU Act 1963. Later, it was renamed as Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on the 7th of November, 1996.

Consequent to the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh, the ANGRAU started functioning at Lam, Guntur and serving he students & the farmers in the residual state of Andhra Pradesh with renewed interest and dedication.

Mandate
• Train the manpower in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology and Community Science for the development of the state (Teaching).
• Constantly generate and improve technologies for increasing production in Agriculture and for the welfare of rural folk (Research).
• Assist in dissemination of the improved technologies to the farmers of the state through development departments of Government (Extension).
