Kevin O Chris
Kevin de Oliveira was born in Duque de Caxias, in the Baixada Fluminense of Rio de Janeiro. Like many young boys from the periphery, he became interested in music at the age of 12, he was a drummer in the church band he attended. At 14, he went to the first funk dance and fell in love with the rhythm.
Today, at 24, Kevin O Chris is the biggest name in Rio's funk scene. According to the Spotify ranking in 2020, the singer surpassed the mark of a billion streams, more than 22 million total listeners spread across 92 different countries. On YouTube, with just over a year of existence of the official channel, the singer accumulates more than 500 million views in his published videos - but, in general numbers (other channels that have videos using his songs), this level exceeds one billion views.
