We still can't believe the amount of positive feedback we've been getting since making this channel at the end of last year. A lot has already happened since then, both the arrival of chimpanzee Donna and the opening of the Copenhagen outdoor area, and being able to record and share these exciting moments have been nothing short of amazing. Another exciting event was the birth of Ruti's first ever baby! Her name was revelaled around a month ago, and shared in a previous video of ours. Here's a picture of the sweet Nusa, which we are sharing along our gratitude for all the support we've recieved on our channel. Thanks for watching, and we can't wait to work on and share more videos in the future.

Amazing news from Aalborg Zoo: One week ago Ruti became a mom when she gave birth to a little baby girl. After a rocky first few days, everything is looking great. We'll share a video of mom Ruti and her baby very soon, and we can't wait to see this little girl grow up!

Hey everybody! We recently reached 3k subscribers and just want to say we really appreciate all of you guys who's subscribed to us! We look forward to showing you all more about the apes and hope you'll all enjoy our upcoming videos.

Unfortunately, we are in the middle of our exam season so our video output is going to be a little slow the next while. But we're working on some fun videos including a small introduction video of the Copenhagen chimps and of course more follow up videos about the chimps and the outdoor enclosure. We are also hoping over the summer to share more about the other apes in Denmark.
Tomorrow will be the birthday of Nje (pictures below), the dominant male in the Copenhagen troop, so we will also be releasing a birthday video for him. Hope you all enjoy!

We've just reached 1000 subscribers, a big thank you to everyone!

Our latest video has gotten way more traction than we expected, and we're so grateful for everyone who's watched it and cheered on the chimps! We hope you will all keep watching as we share more videos of the chimpanzees and their journey to the outside, as well as videos of the other great apes and primates of Denmark.

Yesterday was the grand opening of the new outdoor enclosure for the Copenhagen Chimps! We had an amazing day at the zoo, seeing everyone excited about the chimps and the new beautiful addition to their home.
We won't spoil how many of the chimps dared to venture outside or who, so you'll have to tune into our video that we will be posting very soon 😉

Ape Diaries

We bring you guys some unfortunate news: beloved Yoran has passed away. He was euthanized earlier this week at the age of 37. We at Ape Diaries will miss him a ton, and we know likewise other guests, his keepers and the chimps will miss him as well. He was a very special chimp and there will never be another one just like him.

We are planning to put out a video as a tribute to him, sharing parts of his story and his personality. We will be sharing this with you guys as soon as we are ready to work on it. With all the other new stuff happening with the chimps as well as exams, we want to take our time and make sure we make the best possible video in honor of Yoran. We still have lots of other videos that he also features in, so his presence on this channel will still be felt the next while.

Goodbye, sweet Yoran. 💔

The ape jungle has finally re-opened! We have likewise finally had a chance to meet new chimp Donna. Donna has phenominal social skills and has been doing everything right during her introductions to the group. She's making big steps towards her full integration every day, and we couldn't be more proud of seeing her role grow in the group! Remember to check out our playlist following Donna and her introduction, which we of course will continue to update.
We can't wait to share more videos and information about Donna, and her new place in the Copenhagen chimp family.

Another exciting announcement from the zoo has been getting a date for the new outdoor exhibits opening day, which will be the 16th of May! We are so excited to finally see the chimps outside, and will give as many updates in this coming time as we possibly can (exam season is unfortunately upon us). We also hope Donna, as the only chimp who has experienced the outdoors before, can bring some bravery to the group and that they all will enjoy an amazing summer, spend outside in the summer sun.

Hello everyone! We have some exciting news regarding the Copenhagen Chimp troop, as the troop is about to become one member bigger: Meet Donna!
Donna was born in Chester Zoo and moved to Bremerhaven, Zoo Am Meer around 10 years ago. She came to Copenhagen at the end of last month, and so far the process of getting her used to everything is going extremely well! As the ape jungle is closed, it's limited the coverage we are able to share from this exciting time, but we will be sharing the moments we have been able to capture so far, and we look forward to seeing the jungle open again with Donna fully integrated in the troop :)

Today we have shared our first video of a troop new to the channel: The Odense Zoo Chimpanzees. Even with only 5 chimpanzees they are still always exciting to watch and spend with time. The oldest in the troop is Franka (32) and the youngest is Knaus (14). We hope to share more videos of this troop with you guys in the future as well!
