Cantonese is the mother tongue of HongKongers and is also about the culture of Hong Kong. However, the Hong Kong Government and China keep suppressing the use of Cantonese, such as cancelling the Cantonese-speaking oral public exam, and using the words/phrases used in Mandarin* (加大力度/加強 , 優化/改善、改良 .etc) in government officials' public speech, instead of using the Cantonese words/phrases commonly used in Hong Kong. (* Mandarin: the language used in China)

With the suppression from government and the inflow of immigrants from China, it is probable that the next generation may not know how to speak Cantonese properly.

For the purpose to preserve Cantonese, we created a channel "KongMarkYeah", aiming at recording and assisting the teaching of Cantonese. "KongMarkYeah" sounds like the Cantonese slang: 講乜野 (means "what people are saying"). We hope people could freely say anything they want without any censorship.
