Eric Wong is the founder of Precision Movement. He earned his degree in kinesiology from the University of Waterloo where he studied under Dr. Stuart McGill. From 2006-2013 he specialized in training combat athletes, including multiple UFC fighters, national level amateur boxers and other fighters.

There's one thing that's often the culprit behind stopping you from moving forward and making progress toward your goals...

When you don't know if what you're doing is the right thing for you or if it might even be detrimental to your goals, it's normal to get stuck and do nothing. It could be a question about exercise technique, a nagging ache that you're afraid to irritate or what routine you should do.


Now that there are fewer growing pains as we're approaching year two since its release birth and we've got thousands of active users, we're excited to announce the launch of Groups inside ROM Coach! It's like Facebook Groups (minus the ads and spying on your every post and click).



To get started:


Update your app to iOS 1.3.0 and Android 1.0.83 as these versions just went live

Visit the Groups section and choose your username - usernames are unique so if you don't want to be JimSmith_1983 claim yours now 😉

The primary function of this group will be for us to share news, updates and announcements relating to the app e.g. new features, exercises, routines etc. as well as relevant content we post on YouTube and elsewhere.

The one thing we're going to do in this group to kick off the launch is run weekly challenges over the next 4 weeks.

The 1st challenge ROM Coach group challenge starts today - visit the group to find out what it is and join the fun.


ROM Group #2:
Pain, Injury & Dysfunction

If you have any questions about pain, injury or other movement-related issues, post them here.

You'll get answers from my team and I and because we have a lot of long-time followers, you may get even more insightful feedback from them as they may have experience using our material to fix the same issue you're dealing with and may have tips and tricks to share.

If you've got a question about a Single Exercise (form, reps, substitutions etc) or Routine, this is the place to post it!

We’re getting a jump start on the new year with the December ROM Routine of the Month by going back to fundamentals.



December’s routine pulls from our new program, Fundamental Precision Movements. Mastering these techniques gives you a solid base to build your movement longevity whenever you start setting your new year’s resolutions.

By focusing on the quadriceps through ramping exercises, you’ll retrain yourself to use the right muscles whenever you go into terminal knee extension (TKE).



Next, through conditioning your knee movement/activation patterns, you will build strength, endurance, and more precise control over your legs.



The Knee Pain Eraser goes through 3 exercises, and you’ll only need your foam roller (or rolled-up towel or water bottle) to prop your knee. Performing these exercises 6 days in a row for a week will give you the base to hold the movement pattern in your muscle memory.

We have a new video for you on fixing lower back pain at home without equipment - not even the occasional resistance band or massage ball Coach E sometimes recommends.



Here’s the interesting part. It turns out that there are several terrible things you can do to your poor back that get recommended by credible sources all of the time. (At least now we know, right?) Dr. B and Coach E will cover why you should avoid those and what to do instead.



The 5 exercises are easy to follow and can act as a painkiller. Give them a try, and perhaps more importantly, learn what NOT to do when your back starts to hurt.
