Catalina Beta , nicknamed "the velvet voice", is a jazz-fusion singer and songwriter located in Bucharest, east-Europe, experimenting with world music, folk, blues, pop & jazz.
Catalina 's voice arrives wrapped in velvet and shadow, like an underground river: hidden, shaped by pressure and silence, slow to surface. It speaks not only in sound, but in silence; in the breath between phrases, in the hesitation before a confession, in trembling intimacy. It is a voice raised on longing, tuned in solitude. This ache of not belonging is cleared by the genius arranger and pianist Albert Tajti with more than majestic music; he is the architect of light. Like a wise alchemist, he embodies her emotional turmoil in suspended harmonies and rhythmic emphasis and holds them into healing light. With each note, each chord, new constellations are being born. The pianist carves through air, silence and electric field until her melodic threads bind together, find their riverbed and finally flow free.
