I've been working in the professional film industry for over a decade, but I’ve been writing and directing as an amateur since elementary school. I have also been acting for just as long. I have taken several acting courses with the hope that learning the trade would help me direct my own actors.
When I was starting out, I had no one to give me advice on how to improve my filmmaking. Not just on the technical level, but the creative aspects as well. How to overcome writer’s block, how to effectively prep for a film, and how to direct an actor, are just a few of the issues I had to figure out through trial and error. These are the types of challenges they don’t teach you about in film school.
Inexpert Film Advice is a vlog for aspiring filmmakers, actors, writers, and artists that need support with basic challenges of filming, directing, editing, screen-writing, acting, and simply expressing themselves creatively.
I'm no expert, but I think I can help.
