Official account of Freie Universität Berlin European Studies Program (FU-BEST). FU-BEST is an intensive, academic semester program at Freie Universität Berlin – one of Germany's premier institutions of higher education.
FU-BEST is offered in Fall (late Aug through mid-Dec) and in Spring (late Jan through mid-May).
We aim to provide an intensive and diverse study abroad experience through combining three essential elements:
1. university-standard German language instruction,
2. a large and varied menu of 34+ subject courses (taught mostly in English), and
3. the concept of the “extended classroom”, using Berlin's rich cultural, political, and historical offerings as resource
Cultural offerings and a week-long excursion to German and European destinations add to an enriching academic and intercultural learning experience for over 300 students each year.
FU-BEST has successfully completed the Quality Improvement Program (QUIP) of the Forum on Education Abroad.
