Respect in Business: Why No Customer Should Talk Down on You

In business, one of the most common dilemmas entrepreneurs face is deciding how far to go in order to keep a customer. While customer satisfaction is vital for growth, the question arises: should you allow a customer to disrespect you simply because you want to retain them? The answer is No.

Every business thrives on mutual respect. Customers are important, but so are you—the business owner, your employees, and the values your brand represents. Allowing a customer to constantly talk down on you not only lowers your self-worth, it also sends a wrong signal that your services and personality can be disrespected without consequences.

Of course, there are moments when customers get frustrated, and a wise entrepreneur should respond with patience, empathy, and professionalism. However, there is a clear difference between a customer expressing dissatisfaction and one deliberately talking down on you. One requires resolution; the other is an attack on your dignity.

Maintaining toxic customers can drain your energy, affect your productivity, and even discourage you from giving your best. On the other hand, setting healthy boundaries earns you respect and attracts the right kind of clients who value your work and person. Remember, not all customers are meant for you, and losing a disrespectful one may create space for better ones.

At the end of the day, business is not just about making money—it’s also about building relationships that are based on respect, trust, and fairness. A customer who truly values your services will not tear you down to prove a point.

So, while you must strive to satisfy your clients, never trade your self-respect for patronage. Your business will grow stronger when you build it on dignity, value, and healthy customer relationships.

I want to ask all bag makers this serious question that has been baffling me: what is your motive for joining bag business? Is it for you just to get feeding money or to become successful and wealthy just as other people in other fields are successful and wealthy? Or Are you just here to make customers look down on the work we put on to make these bags?

Have you really sat down to calculate the time it takes to make one bag?

Have you really sat down to calculate the creativity you had to put in to bring out a beautiful and neat bag?

Have you really sat down to calculate the cost of material of a bag before giving your customers that ridiculous price that even you will find it difficult to have profit at the end?

Have you really sat down to think of your old age because truth be told as days pass your age is also increasing and your strength reduces?

Have you sat down to think of your retirement age as a craft person especially as a BAG MAKER?

Have you really sat down to ask yourself the number of bag makers that are truly living a life of their desire? If I may ask, can you boldly buy a car of your choice as a bag maker?

Do you have the money to buy you the kind of beautiful life you have dreamt of living since you have been in this BAG BUSINESS?

What have you really been doing with your life as a bag maker?

See ehn it is high time that I told you the truth from what I have been seeing 🙈

See most vendors who come to buy bags from us especially souvenir bags to resell make far more profit than us đŸ€”. Yes this is a bitter truth.

A Drop shipper ( that is some one that buys from you the bag maker to resell to their own customers) most times gain like #500 on each bag multiply this by 100 and see how much someone who did not go through the stress of making the bags gets in one transaction 🙈

But let me ask you do you make such profit on each souvenir bag despite the stress you went through from going to buy the materials, choosing the right material, cutting ✂ the materials and then finally making the bags?

See I have seen elderly people who have been in this bag business for years but to be sincere with you they don't have any tangible financial success. And I don't mean to be sarcastic đŸ€Œ but I just want you to have a rethink on how you are running your business

I most times sew souvenir bags for printers and vendors and when I by chance see the profit they place on each bag, I do open my mouth 👄 wide in surprise. I will be like this person like money đŸ€‘ oooo.

Ok let me talk about printers a bit I mean people that are into graphic design, people that print Jotters and all those stuffs. See they are far more in numbers than bag makers but let me be sincere with you about 70% of them are doing very well. Yes they are riding the best cars, they live in beautiful houses đŸ˜ïž. Why because despite their numbers they don't under charge. They have a particular price which is like a general price by which no matter how customers move about they will still realize that the price Mr A gave them is the same as that if Mr. B. This is why they are making it.

But come to bag makers, Mr A can charge #500, Mr. B will charge #350, Mr. C will charge #250 just because Mr B and Mr C want to have customers by force or do not want Mr A to have customer. Meanwhile Mr. A puts in all his best to do quality jobs..

I will stop here for today to be continued next time

But please read through as a BAG MAKER who wants to succeed in this business and pleas share your thoughts 💬

I love you all. And I wish us all profit in all our labor.

From yours truly, Ruth Olayemi Olaleru , CEO Tarron Innovative World

Living Beyond Your Means Is Foolishness: Choose Wisdom Over Image

Trying to look rich when you're struggling financially is not ambition—it’s deception. Living beyond your means may feel satisfying in the moment, but it’s a trap that leads to regret, pressure, and stagnation.

Many people spend money they don’t have to impress people who don’t care. That’s not success—it’s foolishness. The clothes, gadgets, cars, and lifestyle may look appealing on the outside, but if they come at the cost of peace, progress, and integrity, then the price is too high.

The Dangers of Overspending

1. Debt becomes your master.
When your expenses exceed your income, borrowing feels like a quick fix. But loans, credit cards, and debts will soon become chains that steal your freedom.

2. Peace of mind disappears.
Behind the glamorous social media pictures are people hiding from landlords, dodging phone calls from lenders, and worrying daily about survival.

3. Real growth is delayed.
Instead of saving, investing, or planning for the future, you’re stuck maintaining an image that brings no real return.

4. Integrity is compromised.
When money becomes tight, some start lying, begging, or even stealing—just to keep up the show. This is how fake lifestyles destroy real lives.

What the Bible Says

Proverbs 21:20 says, “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.”
In other words, wise people plan, save, and preserve their resources. Foolish people waste what they have trying to look like they have more.

Proverbs 13:7 also reminds us, “There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; and one who makes himself poor, yet has great wealth.”
It’s better to be humble and in control than loud and broke.

Wisdom Is Simple: Live Within Your Means

Living modestly is not weakness—it’s wisdom. It means:

Spending less than you earn

Saying no to unnecessary luxuries

Avoiding debt unless it’s for true investment

Finding joy in what you already have

Building gradually and steadily

The truth is, those who grow quietly last longer than those who fake loudly.

There is no pride in pretending. Don’t live to impress—live to progress. Be honest with where you are, be disciplined with what you have, and trust God to take you higher. Real success is not loud; it’s peaceful, lasting, and free from shame.

The Priceless Peace of Being Real

"Being real is affordable. Faking it is expensive — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually."

"Authenticity is far cheaper — and more peaceful — than the high cost of living a fake life."

In a world where appearances often matter more than substance, it’s easy to feel pressured to live a life that is not truly ours. Many people wear masks just to gain approval, look successful, or keep up with others. But while faking it may bring temporary admiration, it comes with a high price — emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and sometimes even financially.

On the other hand, authenticity — being real, honest, and true to who God created you to be — brings peace, contentment, and lasting fulfillment. Contrary to what the world may portray, authenticity is not weakness. It is courage. It is wisdom. And yes, it is far cheaper than the exhausting lifestyle of pretense.

The Cost of a Fake Life👇

Living a fake life requires constant performance. You spend time trying to impress people, money buying what you can’t afford, and energy maintaining an illusion. Deep inside, you know it's not sustainable, and often, it leads to anxiety, guilt, identity confusion, and even depression.

The Bible warns against this in Proverbs 13:7 (NLT):
"Some who are poor pretend to be rich; others who are rich pretend to be poor."
This scripture shows that pretense goes both ways — and neither leads to peace. When we pretend to be what we are not, we stray from God’s design and get lost in the shadows of falsehood.

The Power of Being RealđŸ’Ș

Authenticity frees you to grow at your pace, enjoy your journey, and live with purpose. When you're real about your weaknesses, God’s strength can work in you. When you are true to your identity, you stop striving and start thriving.

Jesus Himself was the perfect example of authenticity. He never tried to impress the religious leaders or fit into societal expectations. He stayed true to His purpose — even when misunderstood or rejected.

Galatians 1:10 (NIV) says:
"Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
This verse reminds us that the approval of others can never be the goal. Living for God and being genuine is far more rewarding.

Benefits of Authentic Living👇

1. Peace of mind – No pressure to perform or impress.

2. Deeper relationships – People can love you for who you really are.

3. Clarity and purpose – You focus on what truly matters.

4. God’s favor – God blesses those who walk in truth (Psalm 51:6).

In Conclusion

It’s okay not to have it all figured out. It’s okay to grow slowly. It’s okay to be different. In fact, that’s where your strength lies — in being you.

Don’t trade the beauty of authenticity for the burden of pretense. Real is rare, and God works best with the real you.

"Live real. Love real. Shine as God made you — not as the world expects you to be."

So when you see me trekking don't feel surprised 😯. Don't say you mean she doesn't have a car despite all her adverts on social media đŸ€Ł.

I am still becoming and I trust the process. What about you?

When it is time for you to have that particular thing, it will surely come easily. Do not buy the idea of fake it until it happens. Be real.

Work It Like You Own It : Handling Your Boss’s Work Like a Future CEO.

One of the most powerful keys to growth in any organization is the ability to handle your boss’s work as though it were your own. This mindset doesn't just reflect diligence—it reveals character, commitment, and leadership potential. In today’s world, where everyone is watching out for “what’s in it for me,” standing out by serving beyond your job description is a priceless virtue.

When I was a teacher, I remember how I taught with zeal. I taught a subject which is generally classified as the most difficult but trust me both my pupils and students did well because I remember how I would first of all tell stories to my students in order to catch their attention before I proceeded into teaching them. I guess by now you should have known the subject I am talking about đŸ„°? MATHEMATICS đŸ’ƒđŸŸđŸ’ƒđŸŸ.
I taught it with all passion.

Everyone could see how deliberate and dedicated I was in my teaching career to the extent that some of my older colleagues fabricated an alibi when I traveled that I had gone to open my own school then 😂😂. And what actually happened then was that I took permission to attend a church program which lasted for 3 days or there about.

Why It Matters to Take Ownership 👇

When you treat your boss's business or tasks with the same care, creativity, and excellence you’d give to your own, you become indispensable. Here’s why:

1. It Builds Trust and Influence
Your boss begins to see you as more than an employee—they see you as a partner. Trust is currency in every workplace, and nothing builds it faster than someone who can handle things without being micromanaged.

2. It Sharpens Your Skills and Maturity
Taking initiative stretches your capacity. You gain exposure to higher responsibilities and decision-making processes that will prepare you for leadership—even if you don’t have the title yet.

3. You Position Yourself for Promotion
Those who go the extra mile are often the first in line when opportunities open up. Many people pray for promotion, but it's your attitude, work ethic, and ownership mentality that unlocks it.

4. You Sow Seeds for Your Own Business or Future
Treating your current place of work as your training ground lays a solid foundation for when you're managing your own team or business. What you sow in another’s field determines what you'll reap in yours.

5. It Reflects Integrity and Excellence
Even when no one is watching, excellence in your boss's work is a reflection of your personal values. It speaks louder than titles and earns you silent endorsements from people who matter.

As a bag making coach today, I silently watch my workers and I can without fail point out those I can confidently trust with my work. Some apprentice do not care. They just do any how without close supervision and I keep wondering how they will be able to handle theirs by the time they start off?

In Summary

No job is ever wasted when done with a faithful heart. If you can't take care of another man's vision, how will you be entrusted with your own? Serving like an owner is not foolishness—it's wisdom in disguise. Every big boss you admire today once served someone else with the same zeal.

So whether you're just starting out or have been on the job for years, take this to heart: treat the work like it’s yours. In time, it will speak for you, open doors for you, and elevate you beyond your imagination.

Promotion doesn’t come by shouting or begging—it comes by showing.
When you work like you own the place, you’re not just serving your boss—you’re investing in your growth. You’re writing your recommendation letter with your actions, not your words.

So today, whatever task is handed to you, don’t just work it—own it.

"Your Journey, Your Pace: The Beauty of Running Your Own Race"

We are in a world where everyone seems to be racing ahead, it’s easy to feel like you’re lagging behind. You scroll through social media and see people announcing new jobs, businesses, marriages, babies, travels, and achievements—and suddenly, anxiety creeps in. You start to wonder: “Am I doing enough? Am I too late? What’s wrong with me?”

But here’s the truth: You are not behind. You are on your own journey, and your timing is valid.

Life is not a competition, and success is not a one-size-fits-all garment. We are all uniquely designed, with different paths, assignments, seasons, and timings. Just like the sun and the moon shine at different times, so will your moment come—and when it does, it will be beautiful.

Running your own race means understanding that:

You are not them, and they are not you. Your background, purpose, gifts, and calling are distinct.

Comparison kills joy and purpose. It robs you of your focus and blinds you to your own blessings.

Delay is not denial. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t. Some blessings take time to bloom.

Instead of comparing timelines with others, invest that energy into becoming the best version of you. Water your own garden. Celebrate small wins. Stay committed. Trust God's timing for your life. Some people succeed early to inspire others, and some succeed later to show that hope is never too late.

I just had to made up my mind to stop focusing too much on what some people post on social media because I remember vividly a particular week where I was so busy reading about some particular people and you know what? Instead of me to be encouraged, I became discouraged. Asking myself why am I not doing this or that? All through that week, I couldn't do anything about my own dreams or vision. But when I eventually came back to my senses I had already wasted a week.

This was why I made up my mind never to focus on others but on my own goals. And believe me, this has really helped me a lot.

Remember, the person you're secretly comparing yourself to may also be struggling in ways you can't see.

Be kind to yourself. Trust the process. Keep walking. One step at a time, one day at a time—you’re getting there.

🔑 Takeaway:

"Don’t be distracted by someone else’s speed. You’re not in a race with them—you’re on a journey with purpose".

What Stands Out About Those Who Walk with Purpose

Over time, I’ve had the privilege of interacting with different kinds of people—from the confused to the focused, from the complacent to the driven. But there’s something truly remarkable about people who know where they are heading in life. You can almost sense it in how they carry themselves, speak, and make decisions. Through observation and experience, here are the key things I’ve discovered about such individuals:

1. They Are Not Easily Distracted

People with direction don’t jump at every opportunity or trend. While others are busy chasing every shiny new idea, they remain rooted and focused. They know that not everything is for them. They filter distractions and keep their eyes on their goal.

2. They Are Comfortable Saying “No”

One clear trait I’ve noticed is that they have no problem turning down activities, relationships, or investments that do not align with their purpose. They understand that saying “yes” to everything is a fast route to nowhere.

3. Their Time Is Structured

You can tell they value time. They wake up with intention and schedule their day around productivity. They don’t waste hours scrolling or gossiping because every minute counts on their journey.

4. They Associate With Purposeful People

Their circle is different. They intentionally choose relationships that feed their growth. You won’t find them in environments that drain their energy or hinder their vision.

5. They Speak With Clarity and Confidence

When they talk about their dreams, goals, or plans, there’s no confusion. Their words are laced with certainty, because they’ve thought things through. They don’t “guess”—they know where they’re going, and that assurance makes them compelling.

6. They Learn Continuously

People who know their direction are always learning. They read, take courses, ask questions, and grow their skills. They understand that preparation is part of the journey, and they’re not afraid to invest in knowledge.

7. They Endure Delays With Grace

Even when results take time, they don’t give up easily. Their vision fuels their patience. They are not driven by the pressure to show off, but by the desire to fulfill purpose.

8. They Inspire Others Without Even Trying

There’s a unique aura around them. Their lifestyle becomes a silent sermon. You watch how they move, and you feel challenged to sit up. They may not be loud, but their consistency speaks volumes.

Final Thoughts👇

In a world full of noise, confusion, and copycats, people who know where they’re heading stand out—not because they are perfect, but because they are intentional. They may not have everything figured out yet, but they walk daily with purpose. Their lives teach us that direction is more powerful than speed—and that clarity is the first step to greatness.

If you find such people around you, learn from them. And if you are on that journey yourself, keep going. The world needs more of you.

"Entrepreneurship Isn’t for the Faint of Heart — It’s for the Fearless"

Entrepreneurship is often glamorized with images of luxurious lifestyles, freedom of time, and the pride of being your own boss. While all these can be part of the journey, the truth beneath the surface is far from rosy. At its core, entrepreneurship is a battlefield — one that tests your patience, your courage, and your resilience. It is not for the faint-hearted, but for the strong in heart who dare to dream, act, and persist.

👉The Myth vs. the Reality

Many people see successful entrepreneurs and assume their journey was smooth. What they don’t see are the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the rejections, the empty accounts, and the tears shed in silence. Starting a business is not just about having a good idea. It’s about turning that idea into something tangible and profitable — and that process is filled with unknowns.

Entrepreneurs face a constant barrage of challenges: financial struggles, market competition, operational breakdowns, slow sales, untrustworthy partners, and the emotional toll of carrying the weight of a vision that no one else might believe in at first. It takes a heart of steel to stay standing when everything around you seems to be falling apart.

👉Resilience Is Key

Resilience is the heartbeat of entrepreneurship. There will be failures. Some ideas will flop. Some investments won’t yield returns. Some days you’ll question your path entirely. But what separates the successful from the rest is the ability to get back up — over and over again. This is not just physical endurance; it’s emotional strength and mental toughness.

You have to keep believing in your mission even when no one claps for you, and keep showing up for your business even when it seems like no one is paying attention. That takes strength.

👉Emotional Intelligence Matters

An entrepreneur must be emotionally mature. You will deal with different people — customers, suppliers, staff, and sometimes critics. You must know when to speak and when to be silent, when to push forward and when to pivot. It takes courage to make hard decisions, especially when they involve people you care about or investments you’ve made with all your heart.

Having the ability to manage your emotions, and stay focused under pressure, is what gives the strong-hearted entrepreneur a lasting advantage.

👉Leadership and Vision

To build something out of nothing requires vision — the ability to see what others cannot. But vision alone is not enough. You must have the strength to lead others toward that vision. That includes leading yourself first. A faint-hearted person will easily give up when others doubt them or when progress is slow.

The strong in heart will continue building, brick by brick, even if they are the only ones on the construction site.

👉Conclusion

Entrepreneurship is not a shortcut to wealth or fame. It is a calling — a commitment to solve problems, add value, and keep growing even when it hurts. It is for the bold, the courageous, and the determined. It is for the strong in heart, not for the faint-hearted.

So if you are thinking about starting or continuing your entrepreneurial journey, remember: it will not be easy, but it will be worth it. Sharpen your vision, strengthen your heart, and wear your scars with pride — because you are walking the path that few dare to tread.

Are you an entrepreneur on a mission? Then brace up, hold your head high, and keep pushing. The world needs your strength.
