Welcome to FireRiff's home on Youtube. Here you'll find riffing, gaming, comedy sketches, the occasional opinion piece, and sometimes even some sort of informative/howto videos. But it's mostly about the riffs and games.
It looks like The Boy in the Plastic Bubble isn't actually public domain. Sony Pictures just blocked it world wide on YouTube. For good measure I will have to remove the VOD from sales too. Fortunately, I still have the project files which means I have a full recording of the riffing. The plan is to add an intro, drop in some sync lines, and replace the VOD with an mp3 riff to sync with the movie. If you bought the riff via Gumroad I will make sure you have access to a free copy of the mp3 riff so you don't lose the riff if anything happens to the VOD you may have downloaded. I should be able to contact you via Gumroad to give you a coupon code. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm considering posting my, "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble" riff on YouTube in its entirety. I've only sold 3 copies since I put it up for sale and it would be nice if more than 3 people watched it. Selling riffs since iRiffs was removed from Rifftrax.com has been difficult. I love riffing movies but it's very frustrating knowing hardly anyone is watching them. So I'll put it up for a poll. All three of you who will probably read this can vote. Put the riff on YouTube, or leave purchasing it the only option. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean I'll start posting a bunch of other feature length riffs in their entirety as most of them would likely get my channel taken down.
As some of you may have heard, the Internet Archive got hacked last week and is still down. User names and passwords were stolen. If you have an account there and use the same password on multiple sites (please don't do that, it's really bad internet security) make sure you change your passwords. Also, this is where I get the majority of my public domain content to riff on. I've got everything I need for Riffoween, but until the site is back up and running again it will be difficult for me to find other content to use. There is also a looming threat of the site shutting down for financial reasons. Between cost to operate, and lawsuits from publishers over textbooks the site made available during Covid, there is a lot of financial stress on them. Let's hope things turn around for them. Internet Archive preserves a lot of content from films, to books, to video games. They also run the Wayback Machine, which archives old websites and old versions of websites, making it basically the internet's museum. It would be a shame to lose such a valuable resource.
Another eclipse on Monday. If you're in the path of totality, or even near it, do not look directly at it. Use the correct glasses or try this little trick out.

Planning for this year's Riffoween has begun. What's this year's theme? I'll give you a hint. Is corn grass?

Gaming PC decided it didn't want to start today. Gotta get a new motherboard. So there probably won't be a stream Saturday like I'd planned.
