Vadim Chaimovich was born in Vilnius (Lithuania), and began studying piano at the age of five, giving his USSR debut performance with a chamber orchestra just two years later. In 1991 he celebrated his first international success winning the first prize at the Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte Competition in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). There followed more prizes and awards at music competitions in Lithuania, Russia and Poland. Vadim Chaimovich received diplomas with honours from several conservatoires of music. His teachers were such distinguished musicians as Lev Natochenny in Frankfurt, Eugen Indjic in Paris and Peter Rösel in Dresden. In 2003 Vadim Chaimovich was distinguished with the promotion prize of the Dresden Art and Culture Foundation for his outstanding artistic achievements. He has appeared in numerous concerts in Europe, USA and Japan. His chamber music partners have included, among others, the renowned violinist Valery Oistrakh.
