Professor of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery his main professional interests are open heart surgery for children, lung and trauma surgeries, teaching UG and PG students. He established state of the art facilities and various teaching courses including MCh, PDCC, ECPT at his work place.

Travelling, long road drives, music, photography, philumeny, film-making, philately, Bio-Farming, planting trees, sports, organising musical evenings 'Triveni' and exhibiting his photos have been his passion . He has planted more than 1000 trees and has published10 books and more than 50 articles.
