Migration is inevitable, necessary and desirable - if well governed.

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.

Today, IOM Indonesia is one of the largest IOM missions worldwide, with 20 field-offices located across the country, including the capital, Jakarta. IOM Indonesia’s 300+ staff are providing support services to more than 9,000 refugees and asylum seekers, working closely with the government and civil society on a wide range of migration management issues from human trafficking to maritime security, while supporting the expansion of the national police force’s community policing efforts.
