Primitive Technology
Primitive technology is a hobby where you build things in the wild completely from scratch using no modern tools or materials. These are the strict rules: If you want a fire, use a fire stick - An axe, pick up a stone and shape it - A hut, build one from trees, mud, rocks etc. The challenge is seeing how far you can go without utilizing modern technology. I do not live in the wild, but enjoy building shelter, tools, and more, only utilizing natural materials. A.This is in Far North Queensland Australia.
Q.Do you live in the wild?
A.I don't live in the wild but just go into the bush to make these projects. Also I camp out here occasionally.
Q.How did you learn all this?
A.Researching books and internet plus trial and error. I'm not indigenous and have no army training.

The Wood ash cement and fired brick hut is 2 years old today and still standing ( https://youtu.be/eesj3pJF3lA ). It used wood ash cement which I developed back in 2018 ( https://youtu.be/DP0t2MmOMEA ) and fired bricks ( https://youtu.be/FwRFH7MH5N0 ). Unlike mud and timber framed structures, cement and brick ones will not dissolve or rot in wet climates due to their durable properties.

The wood ash cement and fired brick hut is 1 year old today (built in this video: https://youtu.be/eesj3pJF3lA ) . It demonstrates the effectiveness of the wood ash cement as a building material. I developed wood ash cement back in 2018 due to a lack of limestone for cement in my region ( https://youtu.be/DP0t2MmOMEA ). The material is made by taking wood ash and heating it in a kiln or furnace to a high temperature with lots of oxygen (calcining) as one would for limestone and then mixing it with an aggregate such as sand or crushed terracotta. The mixture will then set when it dries and become insoluble in water, an important quality for building in wet climates where the rain would otherwise dissolve mud structures. The benefit of this material is that it can obtained from wood where limestone is absent while it uses waste ash from firing the very bricks it will eventually mortar together. It can also be used as a material on it's own to make cement pots for example ( https://youtu.be/rG6nzrksbPQ ).

Still working on next project but am also observing a fire ban which is in place which is holding up said project. I'm making kiln made from bricks, for firing bricks so I can build larger structures. Thanks for you patience.
