Liberate 2021 is an NSF Convergence Accelerator ideation workshop exploring what innovations could kickstart the next wave of technologies that empower people with disabilities. It aims to identify gaps and opportunities within the landscape of rehabilitative and assistive technologies that can define a candidate research and development campaign aligned with the mission of the NSF Convergence Accelerator program. Successfully addressing the program’s specifications may lead to investment by the National Science Foundation towards research and development efforts to advance the capabilities of people with disabilities. Past pitches and workshops have received more than $50 million in support to generate proof of concept solutions across a wide variety of topics.
