Somodeep ‘Bucha’ Sengupta (Singer, Songwriter, Backup Guitars), on stage from his childhood, bagging several awards from the inter school competition to the college competitions. Rewarded the best vocalist in the year 05 by Times Of India (school rock), he went on to win the Telegraph Awards for excellence (TTIS) for his outstanding vocals the same year. Started with a jam band bandish, leading to the band Jinas, followed by a funk jazz group Phattime, the Monkberries , which has resulted in the overall musician excellence as a vocalist. Also contributed in playback singing for the bengali film Box No. 1313 and many jingles for Indian and Bangladeshi products. Now comes back with the same old school boy madness for the love of music as the front-man of The Urban Monkz.
