The old concept is broken. It always was. It wasn’t meant to be what it became. Goal and execution are not supposed to be a unity. Strategy needs to help us adopt in a VUCA world, not hinder us. While still maintaining long term vision. Decoupling of execution and the goal needs to be overcome. At the same time, mistaking the plan for the goal needs to stop. Strategy needs to be an emergent process, top-down AND bottom-up as well as lateral. Strategy is not the plan, Strategy is execution and Strategy belongs to us.
