Song-weaver, string-plucker, word-bender, coffee-drinker, note-writer, poetry-lover... one creativity-ridden, asthmatic mess.

Colleen, the artist behind Stranger May, is a classically-trained cellist who has been exploring the possibility of other genres for years. Armed with a base of string instruments, she gathers influence from Jazz, R&B, Coffeehouse, Indie Pop, and Folk, among others. Based in Knoxville, TN, Stranger May performs locally with a repertoire of covers, originals, and collaborations.

Having studied creative writing, Colleen loves to write poetry and flash fiction in addition to lyrics. Her work has previously been published in literary journals. She hopes to emulate more innovative and impressionistic language in her music as well as her writing, inspired by the complexity of the craziness that surrounds us at all times— particularly in this modern world.
