Ikigai is a Japanese word meaning “reason for being” or “life’s purpose.”
Why Ikigai? Because I often reflect and philosophize about life. Sakurai comes from the name of my favorite singer, Atsushi. It rhymes nicely, so Ikigai Sakurai was born.
Who am I? That’s never an easy question, as a person is always changing.
I was born in October 1989. I’m inspired by artists, rebels, dreamers, and unconventional souls—people with open minds, humor, and the courage to walk their own path. I’m drawn to gothic and dark styles, melancholy, and poetic beauty.
I love music, including French music, films, thought-provoking books, art, and the feeling of nostalgia. Existentialism and Eastern philosophy are close to my heart, shaping the way I see life and meaning. I’m also inspired by Japanese culture—its philosophy, aesthetics, and quiet depth.
