One month into quarantine, 4 years ago, a seed was planted in the heart of a software engineer sitting at her desk. She wanted to keep her family and friends fit while going through such an uncertain time and Studio Jibby (JibFit was the alternate name I was considering!) started to sprout 🥹
I never imagined the life it would take on. I didn’t anticipate that I would quit my job and do this full time and I never could have even fathomed all that would come out of it.
We have some new faces here so I wanted to reintroduce myself. 👋🏿 Hi my name is Jibby. I’m an east coast girly (via North Carolina and the DMV) living in LA.
Some facts about me:
✨I worked in the Silicon Valley as a back end engineer and became a VP of Engineering at my last company. I’d fly out for work to Sweden, Germany and multiple different states to speak at conferences on my knowledge of engineering and cloud computing
✨Pre-pandemic, I’d gotten laid off from a previous start up that was going bankrupt so I started working at Basecamp Fitness as a group fitness coach while I found another engineering job and didn’t realize how much I LOVED it! (But then the pandemic hit and I got laid off from that gym as well when everything shut down)
✨I launched a fitness app called Uplift with Jibby where I teach people of all fitness levels to workout consistently, with plans and nutrition options! @trainwithuplift
✨Financially I’ve had some very successful years on here as a creator and some not so successful. I’m grasping how volatile this business can be, but I’m learning to manage through the uncertainty
✨I’m a thespian. I grew up doing stage acting a lot of my life 🤭 and being in LA has afforded me a lot of opportunities of pursing my life long dreams of acting on stage, movies, and TV shows
✨I’m a plant mom and have over 50 plants in my home 🪴
✨ I LOVE JESUS!!!!! And I’m growing in my faith more and more everyday. It’s been a beautiful journey of recognizing I can’t do this life all by myself and knowing the CREATOR of the universe knows every hair on my head and loves me (and YOU!) immensely 🥹🥰

Last day and first day with my best friend 🕊️
On 12.21.2023 I said goodbye to Riley 😔💔 I’ve never known grief like this. Almost everyday for the last 8.5 years she has been my shadow and I feel like a piece of me is missing now. I’m just glad she’s at peace ❤️
